Snowflakes for Robert’s Snow: Day Four

We’re nearing the end folks. Today is Day Four on the final auction for the Robert’s Snow snowflakes and it looks like . . .

What on earth are you wearing????

I am wearing a wig. It’s like reporter Lois Lane, so it’s cool.

No no no no no! I said no to the hat so I’m saying no to the wig to.

Be that as it may, YOU do not get a vote, Fuseman.

(grumbles) There’s gotta be a rule against this somewhere.

And on we go! Well, there are just TONS of surprises since we last reported in. Already . . .

It’s not like I haven’t better stuff to do anyway

I’m sorry, what were you saying?

I was saying that it looks like we’ve a big winner today, that’s what.

Darn tootin’ you were.  Yes in a suprise upset it looks like as of 7:32 p.m. last night the top snowflake money-wise is Skippyjon "Snow Flake" Jones by Judy Schachner at $1,225!

Do you think this has anything to do with Ms. Obama reading the Skippyjon book the other day?

Hard to tell. Lady Bountiful by Vladimir Shpitalnik did a leap heavenward and hit a mighty $1,000 today as well. And circle dance is at $1,050 and counting.  Do you think this is a result of people bidding against one another?

Dunno, Bets. The bids don’t climb steadily but seem to make gigantic strides forward. It’s very odd.

I’ll say. Do you think we have an influence over any of this?

Nope. At least not so long as you wear dead crows on your head.

. . . .

Anyone you’re hoping gets more bids?

Well, I’ve a soft spot in my heart for Carin Berger.  She’s one of those artists that’s up-and-coming in the children’s literary world and her A Snowy Celebration deserves some lovin’. Once her picture book The Little Yellow Leaf comes out next fall, I think she’ll finally get her spotlight.

Anyone else?

Well, how baffling is it that the gorgeous To Be Like the Sun by Margaret Chodos-Irvine remains so low? It certainly cheers ME up when I see it.

Know what cheers me up?

No, and I don’t care.

That’s all the time we have today, folks! We’ll be back tomorrow for our final coverage as the clock ticks down to the last possible bids.

Not even fair.

  1. Alan Silberberg says:

Fuse is crazy – the wig is awesome, Lois.

  2. Miss Erin says:

    This rocks. GREAT expressions. :)

  3. I love the wig. One more day!!

  4. Fuse, you need to get yourself a LOT of wigs! Maybe something in a neon bouffant or a curly blond mane…

  5. Don’t tempt me. With my eyebrows I probably couldn’t pull off a blond, but there’s a sweet little auburn number I’ve been ah-hankering to try. At the very least I’m going to try to spice up that picture that accompanies every post I do. Give people a shock when they meet me in person and expect an entirely different head o’ hair.

  6. I wouldn’t worry about the ‘brow match situation. I’m from California originally, cuff and collars rarely match.
