Instead of the author using an opportunity to promote the importance of good character qualities/choices, the main character is negative, disrespectful,etc.,etc. AND, my 2nd grader had to bring to my attention that she shouldn't be reading this book because of a remark on pg 33 which she took to mean literally and I am forced to explain it as a bad choice of words to use as a figure of speech. Words chosen for this print are unacceptable at home and at school so I'm wondering why is this even in our school library?!? I am very disapppointed!!
