This sounds really good! I'm with TadMack on Artemis Fowl--liked it OK, but not enough to really become a fan. I'll be glad to give this one a chance. I like those alternate-history type books like Fly By Night. Thanks for the great review!

I have had this one on the pile since I saw Colfer in Houston. I can't wait to get to it. I loved Spud Murphy and the Supernaturalist and The Wish List. Irish storytellers are amazing.

Oh no no. Very different from Airborn. I mean, Airman is pre-flight. No one has ever flown before. It's pre-Wright Brothers and very realistic. No aircats, if you know what I mean. Both are good, but not in the same way.

Sounds really similar to Airborn, which we have shelved in YA, though I don't see it.

I loved The Supernaturalist SOO much, I'm glad to hear Colfer has written something else really good.

Nope. Teen books ain't my thing. There's some violence, but it's all very he-gets-punched-and-blacks out, hero-wise. Nothing gory. No swearing. Zippo innuendo.

I've noted the same thing as Paige, and all the libraries in our system have been putting it in their teen collections, so I was reluctant to buy a copy for our Children's Room. After reading your review, though, it sounds like it will be a good fit for our collection. And besides we all know the Fuse doesn't do teen books.

I'm really excited about this one. It seems that reviewers have been placing the recommended age levels all over the place -- Booklist has it at grades 10-12, SLJ at grades 7-10, Publisher's Weekly ages 10-up. The trailer is also wonderful -- I wish someone would collect book trailer links so that librarians could easily find them. I don't have time to create such a webpage and I don't imagine anyone else does either, but it sure would be nice.

Oooh, this looks really, REALLY good. I love hearing the man speak, as well, but there's definitely a difference between his speaking and writing, and Artemis Fowl, though I read them all, was only okay to me; I much preferred some of the sidekick characters to Artemis. But this! Looks! Good! Thanks for the review.
