Inside A Fuse #8 Production

Roger That, Houston. We Have a Visual.

It has begun.  In preparation for the ALA Conference I’ve been tinkering around with video blogging.  Here is the result of my findings.  It’s pretty scratchy and dark and the quality is low, but I think I’ll be able to avoid all of that in future.  Check it out.

As I say, expect more of this in the next few days.

About Elizabeth Bird

Elizabeth Bird is currently the Collection Development Manager of the Evanston Public Library system and a former Materials Specialist for New York Public Library. She has served on Newbery, written for Horn Book, and has done other lovely little things that she'd love to tell you about but that she's sure you'd find more interesting to hear of in person. Her opinions are her own and do not reflect those of EPL, SLJ, or any of the other acronyms you might be able to name. Follow her on Twitter: @fuseeight.

Wowser! Id I weren’t a hundred and fifty years old and technophobic, I’d get you to teach me how to do that!

  2. R.J. Anderson says:

You had me at the tripod. Tears of laughter, here. (I loved those books!)

  3. Dude, we are not worthy.

I figured I had to work children’s literature into the video at least once. Thank God for the tripod. I got it at MOMA. Freaky little thing, isn’t it?

  6. Andrea Beaty says:

I was feeling very sad about not going to ALA. Now, I can squint and at least pretend I’m there! Thanks!
Andrea B who is experiencing serious puppet envy. Love that puppet!

  7. Puppets, dolls, tripods. kidlit stand up, what a treat. Go Betsy!
Looking forward to gettng the BB POV on ALA for those of us not invited, *sniff, sniff*.

  8. Melissa says:

  9. david e says:

so have you just established “yakkety sax” as your official theme song? you could do worse, thought for some reason i had you pegged as more of a herb albert/60’s game show theme vlog…

  10. Scope Notes says:

I was wondering how the blog would translate into video form. It appears that Fuse #8 won’t be skipping a beat! Looking forward to Friday.

  11. Maria van Lieshout says:

Watch it, John and Hank. There’s competition out there!
Cannot wait to have my video meet your video at ALA. Have some V2-log (V-dialog?)

  12. David, Yakkety Sax just happened to be the music I had on hand. Which probably says something about me. I once used it in a reenactment of the picture book Chickens to the Rescue (which worked amazingly well). More tomorrow!
