Press Release Fun: Walk Into Mo Willems’ Home and Sniff About His Stuff

Boy.  You school librarians are lucky.  Way luckier than me.  While I’m sitting in my little tomb of a children’s room (they’ve covered up all the windows because they’re cleaning the library’s exterior) do you know what you get to do?  You get to maybe be one of the 200 schools that gets to take a super awesome simulcast visit to Mo Willems’ studio on October 6th.  And don’t look so glum, fellow public librarians.  Mo’s extending this offer to library-types as well.  Just imagine!  You and your kids get to check out his digs.  You get to watch him doodle.  You get to see him present the NEWEST ELEPHANT AND PIGGIE BOOK (all caps for maximum emphasis) which is called . . . . oh, you’re just gonna have to see all the information here on his blog.  You’ll find all the information on applying there.

You know who else is lucky?  People who live within driving distance of The Eric Carle Museum.  Cause on Saturday Mo’s going to give the ‘world premier‘ of two new animated shorts, DON’T LET THE PIGEON DRIVE THE BUS! (with Mo as the Pigeon, Jon Scieszka as the bus driver) and KNUFFLE BUNNY TOO (starring the whole Willems clan).  And that’s not all!  There’s going to be a documentary about Mo called . . . um . . . well GETTING TO KNOW MO.  Sadly, I’ve heard rumor that it is "reassuringly un-carnal in nature."

You may as well go anyway.  What can it hurt?
