Newbery Poll Winners

It seems only fitting that since tonight is the SCBWI Kidlit Drink Night (information here) I should announce the winners of our last Kidlit Drink Night Guess the Newbery/Caldecott contest.

First place goes to Katherine R. Harrison who correctly predicted both the Newbery and Caldecott winner, and then got two Newbery Honors right (CALPURNIA TATE and CLAUDETTE COLVIN). So four total titles right, and right in both big categories.

Second place goes to the two people who correctly predicted both the Newbery and Caldecott winner, and then got one Newbery Honor right (CALPURNIA TATE). So three total titles right, and right in both big categories. Rachel Henry and her coworker Carrie Silberman.

And for third place, one more person didn’t get EITHER the Newbery or the Caldecott right — she picked CALPURNIA to win the Newbery, and WHEN YOU REACH ME, CLAUDETTE COLVIN, and WHERE THE MOUNTAIN MEETS THE MOON as Honors. And then she picked both LION AND MOUSE and ALL THE WORLD as Honors (though she got the medal itself wrong). So that’s six total titles right, the most of any competitor, but wrong in both major categories. This person was Julia Weist.

Winners, I will be contacting you about your fabulous prizes soon.
