Video Sunday: Je Suis de L’eau

silversteincroc Video Sunday: Je Suis de Leau

To be honest, I’m not entirely certain why most folks don’t create their own animations to Silverstein poems.  It’s not as if he didn’t record his own voice for them time and time again.  And whatta voice!  I believe someone once compared it to gargling rusty nails.  In any case, this week’s Video Sunday is a touch more paltry than the last.  That’s okay.  What I have, I share with you.  Thanks to @planetalvina for this link.

Now I am much indebted to Jaime Temairik for locating this little video of John Cleese discussing the notion of creativity to the Flemish.  To my mind we are significantly lacking in all things Flemish on this blog and I wish to correct that.  Those of you who wish to propose to me the greatest Flemish picture book of all time, now would be the time to do so.

In this next video, this is just a snippet of Tony DiTerlizzi drawing a mummy.  That said, the time of Halloween is fast approaching.  Ipso facto, I find it more than appropriate.  Particularly the complaint about cell phone bars.

Banned Books Week is just about wrapping up.  Recently Kathi Appelt recently shared two videos touching upon books featuring gay teens on her blog.  In this, the first, she discusses Brent Hardinger’s The Geography Club.

In the second she speaks to the recent suicide at Rutgers.  Thank you for making these, Kathi.

On a lighter note, artist Jessica Kurki presents a video of her own:

And finally, this off-topic video has been seen countless times. I’m probably not showing you anything you haven’t already seen, but just in case you missed it . . . .
