Press Release Fun: The Joe and Shirl Scholarship

This is worth noting. An online auction that helps to let lower income kids attend art programs.  But I’ll let the scholarship’s founder, Jarrett Krosoczka, tell you more himself:

As Jarrett wrote me recently:

“I started a scholarship at the Worcester Art Museum for needy youth who have unique familial situations, in memory of my grandparents. Every year on Cyber-Monday, I’ll launch an online auction to support the “Joe and Shirl Scholarship”.
I’m hoping to build up some buzz pre-Thanksgiving to get people excited
I’m excited.  This is a great idea.  Many thanks to Jarrett for the heads up!
About Elizabeth Bird

Elizabeth Bird is currently the Collection Development Manager of the Evanston Public Library system and a former Materials Specialist for New York Public Library. She has served on Newbery, written for Horn Book, and has done other lovely little things that she'd love to tell you about but that she's sure you'd find more interesting to hear of in person. Her opinions are her own and do not reflect those of EPL, SLJ, or any of the other acronyms you might be able to name. Follow her on Twitter: @fuseeight.

  1. You ROCK Jarrett! :)

  2. Rats — I was hoping I’d be the only one who heard of this so that I could win everything! Especially the original art from PUNK FARM — oh my.
