Sick as a dog

No post today.  Off to recuperate and sleep lots.  And five points to the first person who can correctly name the children’s book that contains this image on the cover.  Go!

About Elizabeth Bird

Elizabeth Bird is currently the Collection Development Manager of the Evanston Public Library system and a former Materials Specialist for New York Public Library. She has served on Newbery, written for Horn Book, and has done other lovely little things that she'd love to tell you about but that she's sure you'd find more interesting to hear of in person. Her opinions are her own and do not reflect those of EPL, SLJ, or any of the other acronyms you might be able to name. Follow her on Twitter: @fuseeight.

  1. no more dead dogs!

  2. No More Dead Dogs.

    Feel better.

  3. What Jim said.

  4. Shucks! I didn’t get up early enough! And just what is Lisa Yee doing up so late on a school night?

Love, love, love that book, btw. Feel better BB

  5. hope you feel better!

and that you can read on the couch while you recuperate.

  6. Phooey. For once I actually immediately identified picture/title, and everyone got here first.
Mainly I stopped by to say that I hope you and Free Bird feel better soon.

  7. Feel better Betsy. Pooey.
    Rin Tin Tin?

  8. Everyone beat me to it! Feel better.

  9. Hope you feel better. Get lots of good sleep.

  10. Good choice! (The rest, not the dog. Although I have nothing against the dog.) Feel better!

I’m telling myself that I would have been the first to identify if it weren’t for the tyranny of time zones! Here in California it’s 7:30 a.m. and I instantly recognized “No More Dead Dogs” and was amused. I hope YOU’RE feeling well enough to be amused soon. 🙂

    • Elizabeth Bird says:

Thanks all! Looks like Shelly beat everyone to the punch.

The fever has fallen a little, though I’m still woozy. And I think I want someone now to write a book called “The Tyranny of Time Zones”. Love that.

  12. One of my favorites.

The Korman book, not you being sick.

  13. Is it the live action/photo version of GO, DOG. Go!? Is there a live action/photo version of GO, DOG. GO!?
I would like to see a live action/photo version of GO, DOG. GO!

  14. “And I think I want someone now to write a book called “The Tyranny of Time Zones”. Love that.”

I smell another YA dystopian novel!

  15. Hey, SLJ time stamps are weird again. I WISH it were 5:15 PM. I’d be on the way home!

  16. Feel better, Betsy!

  17. Oh, no fun being sick when you can’t take anything strong because of Baby. So REST is a great idea, and here’s hoping you’ll be much better off than the dead dog. (Love that book!) Take it easy! Get lots of sleep! Don’t go out in the snow!

  18. Hi Fuse:

No more…oh right, about 20 people beat me to it.

I hope you feel better! I’ve a question for you. Are you going to to the ALA awards in January? If so will you be reporting them the way you did last year? If yes, where? Here on the blog? Twitter? Somewhere else?

    • Elizabeth Bird says:

You know, I considered doing Twitter reporting but last year taught me that there is an essential flaw in the plan. Mainly, the fact that if I update Twitter more than 20 times in the span of 2 or 3 minutes, it thinks that I’m a spammer and cuts me off. So I think I may have to abandon my reporting plans and just watch them online like everyone else. I’m not going to ALA personally but I will be there in virtual spirit, you betcha.

  19. feel better, you poor puppy….

wanna sit on our ‘little thing’ til monday? which can be shoved back again if you’re still sicking, but I suspect you will be fiddle-like.

    • Elizabeth Bird says:

May have to at this point. I’m not so up with my things. But let’s talk it over and see.
