Betsy, along with Anne Shirley and Dorothy Gale, is one of my oldest friends. I was so young when I first read Betsy-Tacy that now I can’t even remember a time when I didn’t know her. I recently finished reading this book to my two girls, and then I made Betsy, Tacy, and Tib paper dolls for my eldest. Just like me, they already adore these three little girls and can’t wait for Mummy to read the next book in the series!

It’s fascinating how many well-known authors are huge Betsy Tacy fans. In addition to Meg Cabot, Judy Blume, Johanna Hurwitz, Laura Lippman and Anna Quindlen have all written forewords in which they discuss their love of the series.

The Betsy-Tacy Convention will be held in two cities this summer, Minneapolis and Mankato, Minnesota, July 19 – 22, 2012. Visit our website http://www.Betsy-TacySociety.org for the complete agenda and registration form for the BT Convention. Lots of activities for everyone and the opportuity to connect with other Betsy-Tacy fans! The Betsy-Tacy Historic Homes will be open and the Betysy-Tacy Society will host a fund raiser with box lunches for picnics in the BT yards and gardens for registered guests during the convention. Take a walk in the Betsy-Tacy neighborhood and bring your best friend! Lots of pictures have been taken on the bench in the hillside where Betsy and Tacy had their picnics with best friends of all ages. I will see you soon in Deep Valley where dreams do come true!
