This is THE book for me. The weird thing is, I wouldn't even call it my favorite of the series (that honor goes to "Ozma" or "The Patchwork Girl"), but I still call it my all time favorite book. That's because Oz is the standard by which all books are judged. Are the characters as intrepid as Dorothy? As delightfully evil as the Wicked Witch? Is the journey as satisfying? I read Oz countless times as a child, and still read it today. Forget all other books. This is THE book for me. It's so much fun to discover that there's MORE than just the first book! I loved Marvelous Land of Oz myself. I'm actually reading Wizard of Oz to my kids now (second round for my 6 year old. I went once as a little girl. It's not open as a theme park anymore, but they have yearly reunions and I think you can still walk along the yellow brick road. Betsy,
