The Full 100 Lists – Top 100 Picture Books and Chapter Books Poll Results

Howdy folks!

Whew!  So we’re done, are we not?  Only took us a month and a half to go through 200 books but there you go.  About this time I’d usually print out the full list for you with links to each of the past posts.  And I will provide that for you soon, honest, but how would it be if you had a gorgeous fancy-dancy beautifully designed and cool PDF of the two full lists?

Well now you can!  (I shoulda gone into infomercials, right? No?)

SLJ has been sweet as all get out and has decided to create these gorgeous forms for you.  You might have seen an allusion to them within my posts for the #1 books yesterday.  It’s the same thing.

To register for the Top 100 Picture Books List go to:

To register for the Top 100 Children’s Novels List go to:

I’ve seen the mock-ups for these and they are twelve kinds of gorgeous.  Just perfect for handing out to patrons, teachers, fellow librarians, etc.  Full-color well-designed loveliness.  Am I biased?  Of course!  But I also am a terrible liar and these are quite nice.

Now to sleep for a good month . . .

Thank you to everyone who worked so hard on this list. I tend to beware of all lists, but when Gone-Away-Lake made it, I decided to officially love this one.

  2. Teresa says:

After you take a break, can you publish “the best of the rest?”–books that were nominated, but didn’t make the top 100?

    • Elizabeth Bird says:

Yep, there will definitely be a Best of the Rest post on the horizon. Fear not, faithful readers.

  3. How wonderful! What a treat it has been to read your excellent posts. I am looking forward to the Best of the Rest. I put several books on my lists that I knew would likely not make the list, but wanted to put them out there.

  4. Sondy says:

Are you planning to post the top 100 Chapter Book Authors & Picture Book Authors & Picture Book Illustrators? If not, would you mind if I did such a post? With a link back to your posts and full credit, of course.

I was on vacation and missed the big reveal of the last books. I’m looking forward to catching up — You do such a great job talking about all the books!

    • Elizabeth Bird says:

Sondy, the authors and illustrators are entirely yours. Have at ‘em. After all, I took the idea from this poll on a comic book blog. I hardly own it.

  5. Sondy says:

Thanks, Betsy! (Though the data was collected by you. I only totaled it.) I’ll plan to post tonight after work. If not then, then this weekend at http://www.sonderbooks.com/blog

Again, thanks for letting me help tally things up!

  6. Benjamin Collinsworth says:

How likely are you to do yet another poll in 3 years? I was late to the party and have since been trying to whittle my favorites to a top 10. Perhaps I will have succeeded by 2015.

    • Elizabeth Bird says:

3 years is a long time indeed. I think the likelihood is a good one, barring death, dismemberment, and possible disbarment (can a librarian be disbarred?).
