Nick Green from the Daily Breeze reports on patrons at the Palos Verdes Library District having access to a live reference librarian 24/7 (I hope they rotate the night-shift). "Services like these, he writes, and others are creating a virtual library branch complementing the existing brick-and-mortar versions the library boasts in Rolling Hills Estates, Palos Verdes Estates and Rancho Palos Verdes."
PVLD's online services are free, provided you have your branch library card; which can only be obtained by visiting the library in person. I knew there was a catch.
