A Summer Update

Back in August, I posted about a Bedstuy resident from Brooklyn, NY who wrote about his outrage on the extended closing of his Bedstuy community library. "C. Wayne Surber, is steaming about why this community is out of one of the hottest resources for the summer."  The library had been closed since 2002 and here's the good news UPDATE which is late, but was prompted from a recent comment to that post.  See, it's good to check the old posts.
After undergoing a spectacular $2.9 million renovation, Brooklyn Public Library’s one-hundred-year-old Bedford Library welcomes the community to enjoy free educational programs for all ages, new facilities and new technology within a handsome, fully-restored Carnegie Library. Brooklyn Public Library’s Bedford Library, located on 496 Franklin Avenue near Hancock Street in Brooklyn, NY will reopen for public service on Thursday, October 6, 2005 at 1 PM." (via Bed-Stuy Online Community Affairs release)  Congrats Bedford residents!
