Books Are Treasures is just one of themes you'll see when visiting Long Lake Library in Long Lake, NY. (Yes, I finally made it there over my vacation.) You'll also find a unique display case (developed by stream ecologist Kathy Stout) with jewelry created by the caddisfly, which is an aquatic insect that lives in mountain streams.
Pat Blodgett, the Circulation Librarian shared with me how "this unique insect builds a beautiful cocoon using small stream pebbles." Pat also gave an update on the steady progress of the LLL's technology system…which now has wireless capability thanks to the book sales, library auctions, Friends of the Library and from private donations.
If…A Library Near You has a cool summer display you'd like to share with readers, please email me your suggestions at firstname.lastname@example.org
