Katrina Teachers Reach Out To Us

School teachers all over the country

in desperate need of resources are using the website to ask for your HELP…especially teachers in Louisiana.

I can’t believe today marks the second year anniversary of the Katrina tragedy.  There’s still so much help needed and this site does a wonderful job in outlining specific items needed by teachers.  You must visit.

Here are just some of the multitude of requests from teachers at DonorsChoose

"I teach a wonderful group of second graders at a PK-3 school in Mandeville, Louisiana. Our area was greatly affected by hurricanes Katrina and Rita; some of our families are still dealing with the aftermath of these terrible storms.

We are fortunate to have an LCD projector in our classroom that allows us to interact with our technology on a grand scale; however, I want to broaden my students’ horizons even more."

"I’m a fourth grade teacher at a Title I school in Slidell, Louisiana. I love using technology in my classroom. Unfortunately my computer is quite huge and covers most of my desk. I am interested in updating with a laptop. It needs to have enough memory to support an active board."

Some of these projects have been funded; but many have not.  The beauty of this site allows visitors to peruse and donate a little or a lot. But every little bit does help.
