Right now, It’s 10:00 p.m. Do you know where your children are? I do.
And while they lay peacefully in bed, I sit and wonder about this unconference I’m attending tomorrow.
I am preparing to ‘live blog’ the NYSAIS Unconference for Managers of Information Technology and Librarians, located at the beautiful Mohonk Mountain House in New Paltz, New York. I just cannot say what I will be blogging about, yet.
While this is my first time attending an unconference, I decided to throw my hat in the ring and proposed the following workshop: How to Teach Like a Reporter. This theme comes from an upcoming guide book I am co-authoring, on how to use reporter-like skills to enhance day-to-day student learning.
I will keep you posted on the book and whether or not my workshop will be selected.
Here’s how the organizers described the unconference, "For this year’s conference, the planning committee decided to go with a change of pace…. Given the incredible rate at which technology changes, we wondered if it really made sense to plan a conference a year, or even 6 months, in advance. The committee therefore decided to convene an unconference, where participants shape the agenda on the spot."
