What would Valentine’s Day be like without a good book to curl up with? And with the talk of books being one
of the items (possibly) on the economic chopping block, let’s show them!!!
My best friend, Allison Barksdale, came up with the idea for this post. And because it is Valentine’s Day - and I love her so much – I thought…what a great way to keep the love growing – through books.

Here was the original message from Allison.
Hey Amy,
Here are 3 books that made an impact on my life when I was a little girl. Since I know what a great educator you are, maybe we can keep this going and have adults add what books meant a lot to them, to the list.
I then went out and asked my Twitter and Facebook friends to join-in on the Love for Books.
My Twitter Friends’ Faves:
@DSloanandco‘s: sent me her 3 favorite books first and a tweet about KidsVDay: abowllan #KidsVDay is 171 authors at 41 New Eng bkstores 10-12 noon 2day! www.kidsheartauthors.com
@turrean‘s 3 favorites came next….

@coolcatteacher was third to respond with her triple picks:

@librarygrl‘s favorites after I took a nap. zzz
@hmccormack sent these three for the V-Day book lovefest.

More to come. This is how I am celebrating my Valentine’s Day. Smooches for each of you!
A side note…
(I couldn’t ask the president what his favorite books are, but Katie Couric did in an interview. Obama’s favorite books)
