If you are a regular reader, you will know that most of my summer was spent thinking about Euna Lee and Laura Ling, and what life would must have been like for them in North Korea, as prisoners. We should keep in mind, these journalists were on a hunt to tell a story about mothers and children who were/are suffering in North Korea. While this chapter of their life ends, as they know it, I am sure another chapter begins. I am overjoyed that they are finally home. Hopefully my students will take a page out of their book, with the understanding that we must report the news, no matter what the repercussions are. Somebody has to do it.
