Writers Against Racism: #NDLC 2010 Interview With Trevor Dawes

One of my co-presenters for NDLC, Edi Campbell, sent me a link to an article profiling Trevor Dawes, the Circulation Services Director at Princeton University. Trevor is also chairing the National Diversity in Libraries Conference at Princeton University this week – as my panel discussion grows closer (nail biting). The podcast of his interview is embedded in the article and explains the importance of having a conference that specifically focuses on diversity in libraries.

I also LOVE how the planners are using social media to handle questions regarding the conference.  Here’s an example of how Trevor used Twitter in response to my questions about wireless capabilities and tweeting questions:

@tadawes internet access n big screen for presenters? #ndlc2010

  • Trevor A. Dawes tadawes

@abowllan yes, free wireless access (for all) and projection for all presenters #ndlc2010 10:40 AM Jul 10th via HootSuite in reply to abowllan

  • Trevor A. Dawes tadawes

  • @abowllan we can have a volunteer monitor tweets if you want to accept questions that way #ndlc2010

  • There’s also a Facebook page for the ACRL Residency Interest Group, as well as a wiki site for NDLC.

Enjoy!  I will see you ALL there.
