I’m midway through W.A.R., Dr. Nnedi Okorafor’s latest novel, AKATA WITCH [Viking Juvenile (April 14, 2011)] and it’s got ‘made for tv‘ all over it. Page turner! So as I am preparing for my review, I was over at Okorafor’s blog this morning and stumbled upon a video explaining her life.
Riveting! From dealing with DISGUSTING forms of racism – to surviving a risky spinal surgery – and being paralyzed for a summer, Okorafor’s own ‘story’ has the ingredients of what she has made of herself: a quintessential, 21st century, creative writer.
