Choco and Mimi's materialistic personality's are jabs at the Shibuya gyaru culture, and most of the gags are obscure manga references ( try reading some of the authors other horror works.) Sometimes, these websites have to face the ugly truth: You can't shelter your kids from the obvious. Materialism and things like that are an obvious part of our society, and you can't hide them forever. ChocoMimi is addressing these issues of teen girls' obsessions with fads and weight loss bluntly and cutely.
