The Picks:

Chip N Dale Rescue Rangers #1 – Coming on the heels of the successful return of Darkwing Duck, Boom! Studios brings back another popular series from the 1990’s Disney Afternoon; Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers. The diminutive detectives are off on a new case when a virus starts infecting animals all around the world, causing them to act crazy. They must find the Super-Key, something that Monterey Jack seems to know about. Follow Chip, Dale, Gadget, Monterey Jack and Zipper as they face dangers from crocodiles to waterfalls to get to the bottom of the case. Kids will no doubt be attracted to this series, just as many of their parents loved it when they were young. Nostalsia alone could make this series popular, but the appeal of the animal characters mixed with smart writing and wit can make this a great series for a new generation. Check out the preview here.

Harry Potty and the Deathly Boring GN – Papercutz slices into the world of Harry Potter with a parody of the popular magical series. Harry Potty with his friends Don Measly and Whiny Stranger, must find a to defeat the nose-less Lord Value-Mart and his followers the Odor Eaters, after the murder of their mentor Dumb-As-A-Door, in order to avenge the death of Harry Potty’s parents and bring balance to the world of magic. Kids love parodies, especially of popular series’ they love, so this book will defintely be a hit. Older readers that grew up with the books and movies will no doubt also find a lot to laugh at. check out what Brigid Alverson had to say about it in the Reading Pile!
