Inside Good Comics For Kids

All ages comics and manga for 3/16/11

It’s been a week since the devastating earthquake hit Japan. The news has been a real rollercoaster of a ride to follow. While there’s no manga on the list, all our thoughts and good wishes go out to the people of Japan. To help lighten the mood, Ape Entertainment releases its first trade of their Penguins of Madagascar series. Boom! Studios has a trade of Toy Story, as does Marvel’s Super Hero Squad. It’s a trifecta of ‘toons!

Sea Ghost #1 (Sea Ghost In The Machine), $3.99 ^^AA Pick^^

The Picks:

Sea Ghost #1The Undersea Adventures of Capt’n Eli spawns a spin-off! Sea Ghost is transported to an alien world by a mysterious sphere when he discovers dangerous secret. He must somehow convince the Simas and Phlan to stop fighting and join together to take on the real enemy. Sea Ghost is an integral character in the Capt’n Eli universe, with his origin story being told in volume 2 and his return in volume 3. This is a must have for fans of the Capt’n Eli series, but lovers of superhero crime fighting may find a lot to enjoy here too. Check out the preview of this issue here.

Scooby-Doo, Where Are You #7 – Scooby-Doo gets meta! Scooby and the gang receive the ultimate honor after the success of their case spread and their fame grows; a Saturday-moring cartoon based on their adventures! A pair of big-shot producers are making the cartoon, but unless the ghost that is haunting the studio is stopped, it may not happen! The self-references back to Scooby-Doo’s origins should make this an entertaining issue to both kids and fans of the series. This is a re-issue of the floppy that was originally set to come out on March 2. There was some printing error in the original issue, though there’s been no clue what that misprint was.
