Sonic the Hedgehog #223 – The longest running series based on a video game begins its silver anniversary with this issue. It’s ‘One Step Forward’ for Sonic as he is forced to team up with the evil Ixis Naugus to stop Dr. Eggman’s new creation. With all of Mobius at stake, Sonic must race against time, leading to an unbelievable world-changing ending. This issue is a prelude to the a new arc, ‘Genesis’ and starts off the celebration for Sonic’s 25th anniversary. Archie is sparing no expense as this issue features a special, double-sized gatefold cover. Fans old and young of this series will not want to miss such a milestone issue!

Patrick In A Teddy Bear’s Picnic and Other Stories – Toon Books has a new graphic novel for emerging readers. Patrick Brown is a playful teddy bear who likes to jump puddles and has a sweet spot for his Mama, but is put to the test when Big Bear shows up. This volume features several stories both long and short about avoiding naps, going on a picnic, dealing with bullies, and buying cookies. Written by Geisel Award-winning author Geoffrey Hayes, parents and teachers can rest assured that these stories will not only be easy-to-read, but also delightful for their young readers.
