On Sunday, May 8th, while attending the Toronto Comic Arts Festival, I ran around to as many of my favorite kids comics creators as I could and asked them all the exact same questions. Keep in mind, conventions are crazy loud and crazy busy, so there is a lot of background noise. Let me know in the comments if you have trouble hearing anything and I’ll translate for you.
Here at GC4K we’ve done quite a bit of business with Jim Zubkavich. First we spoke to him about his role as project manager for the UDON Kids line of manga. In 2010, I named Street Fighter Legends: Ibuki one of the Hot Fall Graphic Novels at that year’s BEA (the GC4K crew spoke more about Ibuki’s pants here). Jim’s latest project is with Image Comics. Skullkickers is, well, a kick. I reviewed the book here, so I won’t repeat myself. Instead I’ll just sum up by saying I enjoyed it a lot.
Books mentioned in this video:
- Lost at Sea, by Bryan Lee O’Malley
- William Shakespeare: Complete Works
