On July 22nd through 24th, while attending San Diego International Comic-Con, I ran around to as many of my favorite kids comics creators as I could and asked them all the exact same questions. Keep in mind, exhibit halls are crazy loud and crazy busy, so there is a lot of background noise. Let me know in the comments if you have trouble hearing anything and I’ll translate for you.
Owly! Who doesn’t love Owly? (If it’s you, keep it to yourself.) Andy Runton has been a favorite of ours for what seems like ages (heck, it seems like we’ve all interviewed him at one time or another), but it’s actually only been seven years since Owly: The Way Home was published. Although, I suppose seven years is ages in the modern comics-for-kids age.
Most recently, Andy has added a new branch to Owly’s tree (ugh, sorry about that) by adding a picture book to his graphic novel series. According to this 5-question interview, there are more on the way. Yay!
