The Picks:

Courtney Crumrin #1 – Courtney Crumrin gets her own ongoing comic! Courtney was the odd girl out until she was introduced to the world of magic and the Night Things by her Uncle Aloysius, a master mage of unknown age and mysterious motivations. Now Courtney faces a new dilemma as she learns what started the Crumrin clan down the dark path. Will she be strong enough to follow it to its end? Tweens and teens have enjoyed following Courtney on her journey, and this move to a monthly comic makes it exciting! And the move to color makes it more exciting! Libraries will have to do the waiting now, while fans can get their dose every month!

Kitty And Dino HC – Yen Press’ new picture book is one that anyone can love! A young boy brings home a dinosaur egg, and the cat of the house is less than thrilled at the new member of the household. After a few weeks, the baby dino grows on her and the pair become inseparable friends, chasing frogs and butterflies, and then heading home for dinner. With next to no words, this book tells a beautiful and fun story of a friendship that transcends species. The art is rich and gorgeous, with a unique style that fits the story perfectly. This book is a must for young children and elementary libraries, though the sweetness and fun make it a title everyone will love. Check out my review of the book here.
