On May 4th through 6th, while attending the Toronto Comic Arts Festival, I ran around to as many of my favorite kids comics creators as I could and asked them all the exact same questions. Keep in mind, exhibit halls are crazy loud and crazy busy (even when they’re held in a library), so there is a lot of background noise. Let me know in the comments if you have trouble hearing anything and I’ll translate for you.
I don’t usually like reading books with a message. I’m firmly in the “turn off your brain and read!” camp. But if I had to read a book with a message, Luz Sees the Light would be a good one to pick up. There’s nothing wrong with a little learning mixed in with your entertainment, or so I’ve heard. Having the chance to speak with the charming Ms. Davila was a treat and I’m looking forward to picking up the second Luz book, Luz Makes a Splash.
