From Wednesday, July 17 through Sunday, July 21, 2013, while attending the San Diego International Comic-Con, I ran around to as many of my favorite kids comics creators as I could and asked them all the exact same questions. Keep in mind, exhibit halls are crazy loud and crazy busy, so there is a lot of background noise. Let me know in the comments if you have trouble hearing anything and I’ll translate for you.
Monster on the Hill, man, Monster on the Hill. This book is my go-to book this year for kids who want a comic that’s adventurey and funny, but maybe a little scary, with a soupçon of pathos thrown in for flavor. Basically, I give it to everyone, young readers and old. Rob Harrell has done a wonderful thing with this book, which is no surprise, really. His Adam@Home comic strips have been making readers happy for years.
