IDW Publishing, the home of My Little Pony and Jem and the Holograms comics, made a major announcement at Star Wars Celebration last week: They have inked a deal with Disney Licensed Publishing to produce monthly Star Wars comics, with original content, for young readers. The line will launch with Star Wars Adventures in September 2017. The comic will be part of the lead-in to the movie The Last Jedi.
