Apocalyse TacoApocalypse Taco HC – Amulet Books releases a new Nathan Hale that’ll make you hungry for sci-fi. Sid, Axl and Ivan volunteer to make a late-night fast-food run for the high school theater crew. When they return, they find things aren’t quite right, including finding copies of themselves onstage! Their trip across town to the taco place actually became a cross into an alien dimension, that’s weirdly similar to their world. There are similar copies of cars, building and people, and they are all out to get them. The group will have to use their wits, their truck, and even their windshield scraper to escape, before they become the copies themselves! With plenty of sci-fi action and just the right amount of creepy to appeal to tweens, Apocalypse Taco is perfect for readers who like a little “ick” in the sci-fi.

Marvel Action Black Panther 1Marvel Action Black Panther #1 – IDW Publishing brings the Wakanda and the adventures of its monarch to middle school readers. King T’Challa is responsible for defending his people of the technologically advanced African nation of Wakanda-and sometimes the world-from any threats. As the Black Panther, T’Challa fends off villains and threats of all flavors with the help, and a big dose of sass, from this genius sister Shuri, starting with a plague of deadly weather. They must discover the source of the weather events before more of his people suffer. Written by Eisner and Harvey winner Kyle Baker, this new series is sure to a ton of fun.
