Preview: ‘Stranger Things: Zombie Boys’

We have an interesting preview for you this morning. The Netflix series Stranger Things has been a huge hit, and Dark Horse has produced an all-ages graphic novel spinning off from it. Stranger Things: Zombie Boys, which will be out on January 22, takes place after season one and follows Mike, Lucas, Dustin, and Will as the deal with the aftereffects of the supernatural events they were involved in. The story stays firmly in the historical period as a new kid shows up at school with a portable Betamax camcorder and coaxes the quartet into making a zombie movie. The graphic novel shows Will’s fear that his abduction has left a permanent mark on him and how he processes that through his drawings and then through an emotional crisis brought on by acting in the movie. The graphic novel is self-contained and makes sense even for readers who haven’t seen the show; everything they need to know is explained through Will’s own drawings.

For those who can’t get enough Stranger Things, Dark Horse also has a new comic series, Stranger Things: Into the Fire, which launches on January 8. This series is not for young readers; ComiXology rates it 15+.

Here’s a first look at Stranger Things: Zombie Boys. Enjoy!
