Now, not being a librarian, I&#039;m never going to be on the Newbery or Sibert committees, so what I was really thinking of when I said &quot;leave non-fiction out of most Newbery discussions&quot; was the informal discussions we have on blogs--it seems like people say fairly often &quot;oh, that&#039;s better for the Sibert&quot;, just as some people say about Newbery contenders that skew older, &quot;leave it for the Printz&quot;.  But the idea that the Sibert reminds the real committee to consider a wide range of genres is intriguing, and I can see how it would be true.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;

One problem is... I have seen people asking for MORE awards, like, an award for younger-middle-grade separate from the Newbery.  Where do we reach award saturation, where the existing awards cease to have as much meaning?</description>
