I also had some problems with the resolution of the novel in respect to the orphans dilemma. However, I did think the resolution with her father was realistic . . . it wasn't perfect, happily-ever-after. I think as a child reader, this would have bothered me, but as an adult, I recognize it to be realistic. I'm not sure if this one falls in my top 10 or just shy of it. I'm about halfway through THE GRAND PLAN TO FIX EVERYTHING right now and I have FREEDOM MAZE all ready to go! My problem is that it goes in the light and funny basket with PENDERWICKS and PIE and I think I pull both of them out first.
