Heading for Philadelphia?

Monica Edinger and I are scheming for a Battle of the Kids Books / HeavyMedal happy hour on Saturday the 25th, 5pm, likely at the bar in the Marriott. Join us? If we can get a vague headcount we will try to make arrangements and confirm time/location in the comments here.

Update; as you’ll see below in the comments section…we’ll be getting together following the YMA announcements and heading for a celebratory cup of coffee. Look forward to seeing you there!

I just commented over at BoB. I have another engagement at that time, but in the same location so I will try and stop by and say hello.

  2. Because it was Danae’s idea and she can’t make the Saturday time, Roxanne and I decided to this to Monday, after the YMAs. We can figure out a meeting spot and then go somewhere for coffee and chatting. Hope that is okay, Nina!

I’d been toying with the idea of driving up to Philly (3 hours away) for just the day Saturday and getting an exhibits pass. You had increased the likelihood I’d do that with the 5:00 plan. But oh well! I need to save up my leave for some planned trips, so I won’t be attending the YMA this year. :(

I’d recommend Old City Coffee, on 12th down towards Market. Convenient, reasonably priced, and pretty delicious. (There’s also a Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts both on Market, if you’re on 12th, turn right for Starbucks, left for DD. The DD is teensy though, only about 5 small tables, so I wouldn’t recommend it for groups of more than 4.)
