Wiki stats: My big duh!

Yet another reason to love the wiki:

So I am in the depths of annual report writing when I come to the shattering realization that I am going to have more trouble than ever explaining my Web stats. I want folks to understand how heavily our students use our website.

But over the course of the past year I’ve moved so much of my content, especially my pathfinders, from traditional html pages to wikis.  Those html pages had lovely little counters that produced lovely litte color charts.

I panicked (slightly, you know how crazy report writing can make you) over this loss of cool data in my format shifting.

It was then that the true beauty of the Wikispaces Manage Space area appeared to me.  On that page Usage Statistics also yields lovely color charts.  And I can select to see stats for a particular month or an annual summary.  Just too bad range choices and stats for time of day are not available.

Nevertheless, this is one very easy solution to my data dilemma.

The plan now is to describe and compare levels of wiki pathfinder use.

I love wikispaces, too, and use the stats all the time in my reports. My stats impress my boss and show the value showcasing our resources this way–better than the organization website!
