On finding Twitter buddies: Twitter4Teachers

When people react against using Twitter for social networking, it’s usually because it takes time to build that network.

It takes time to discover whose Tweets you’ll value or enjoy.

A new wiki can help.

Twitter4Teachers began less than a week ago, and was created, as far as I can tell, by Gina.  (Please let us know more if you are out there, Gina!  I’m awaiting membership approval.)

We can help this baby wiki grow.

We can certainly populate this wiki with more teacher-librarians to follow on Twitter.  We can populate it with the screen names of the many tweeting teachers we admire. We can also use it to help our partner classroom teachers and administrators who might be interested in developing their own personal learning network (PLN).

Here’s a look at the list as it stands today:

Joyce Valenza About Joyce Valenza

Joyce is an Assistant Professor of Teaching at Rutgers University School of Information and Communication, a technology writer, speaker, blogger and learner. Follow her on Twitter: @joycevalenza

  1. Janice Stearns says:

    Hi Joyce,
It looks like all you have to do is log in to PB wiki to edit the form. Great idea. If I start twittering again, I will add my name. Been out of the loop for a few months. Thanks for sharing. Great idea.

  2. Gina Hartman is a dynamic force in our district for the promotion of using technology in the classroom – no surprise that she is now on Joyce’s radar!

  3. joycevalenza says:

    Margie and Gina,
    Happy to meet you both!
