SweetSearch Biographies launches
SweetSearch just launched a biography product and it looks especially sweet in these tight database times.
SweetSearch Biographies currently lists more than 1,000 people and allows searchers to filter by nationality, gender, and profession. Very nice for teachers looking for lists of individuals to explore for projects or for students exploring their own specific interests.
Names link to SweetSearch profiles on findingDulcinea or the SweetSearch results for that individual. New profiles will be added each week.
Mark Moran, founder and CEO of Dulcinea Media shares:
The most useful aspect for students is our category filters, which help the user filter names through up to three categories. Click on African Americans to see a list of all people in this category; then sub-filter by Activists, then by Women, and you get our list of profiles that fit all three categories.
The profiles are very student-friendly and link students to the writers’ sources, which include: New York Times obituaries; Los Angeles Times, Time.com and a variety of online news magazines; university and library archives; YouTube videos, and much more.
