Wanna be a superhero?
Have you always wanted to be on a lunchbox?
Our friends at Gale Cengage are looking for superhero librarians.
Here are the details:
Do you know a librarian who is faster than a speeding bookmobile … more powerful than a mid-term deadline … and able to beat any obscure homework assignment?
If so, Gale invites you to nominate this superstar by entering them into our super-cool contest …
Four superhero librarians will be selected from entries and then — KA-POW! — turned into animated superheroes! Winners will be featured on a collectible lunch box — as their illustrated alter-egos, of course — and unveiled during the opening reception at this year’s ALA Conference in New Orleans.
To enter, visit our Facebook Fan Page, Are You A Librarian Superhero between February 1st and February 28th, 2011, and in 250 words or less, tell us why you or your nominee is a librarian superhero, and what kind of superhero traits are most apparent to the library user. You’ll also need to include some of their mild-mannered features, such as their name and day job (name of library or institution.) Every nominator will also receive a special prize!
