I totally subscribe to Heidi Hayes Jacobs' insights. While we are all creatures of habit, even educators have to evolve and go with the tide of time.

Technology is here to stay. Some may say that it can make students lazy and dependent on search engines, for example, compared with the former times when one had to go sift through library index cards to look for a reference book needed. But technology has proven its huge benefits.

It is now the role of educators to learn the technology and harness it to be able to guide and influence the students to put it to good use. Of course, we cannot discount the experience of a seasoned educator against a tech savvy newbie's. This scenario then provides a good opportunity to complement their strong suits.

Keep these ASCD posts coming, Joyce! Jacobs has informed so much of my understanding of the role curriculum mapping can take in making school change a reality. Her ideas about differentiated PD are so important. TLs can help design and deliver this kind of powerful adult learning experience.

My district is moving to Atlas Rubicon and it will be a game changer for I make my teaching transparent to the entire district.
