Pinterest for bulletin board anxiety
For me, the beginning of school is made even crazier by bulletin board anxiety.
It has nothing to do with my artistic talents. Granted they are limited. It has everything to do with idea deficiency.
And then it also has something to do with the need to get something pretty up there even though you know there are really more important things to do and you want the kids to be delighted and you want parents to be impressed . . .
Digression: I have at least three books on the shelf to the left of my desk entitled something along the lines of effective library displays. I am not so sure about that effectiveness promise. One, published in the 70s, seems to have been written in the 50s. The kids in the display are wearing Dick and Jane and Sally outfits.

Pinterest to the rescue! If you are not convinced of the value of Pinterest beyond hobbiest or fashion pursuits, search either library displays or library bulletin boards or even just bulletin boards. The great visual ideas will blow you away.
Here are a few of my favorite discoveries:

I may use this flexible idea several times. Once for essential research and learning apps, including our library’s mobile site and databases apps. I am hoping to do another on teacher’s and students’ favorite apps with their personal endorsements.
