Check out DKfindout!
Greetings from ALA Midwinter where DK launched a beta version of DKfindout!, a new interactive site that makes the publisher’s already highly exciting visual content even more exciting!
Designed for children ages seven through eleven (but truly fun for all!), the content spans science, math, English, history, geography, the human body and more with print, animations, sounds, videos, quizzes, fun facts, and glorious photos and is accessible on desktops, tablets or mobile phones.
I spoke with Rachel Kempster, VP of Marketing and Publicity on the exhibit floor. She shared:
We’re excited to offer DK’s award-winning children’s content free for children to use for school projects and for exploring the subjects they love. The site is a safe and self-contained space where kids can learn about volcanoes, tigers, dinosaurs–all the subjects that they are curious about. It’s not only a free site, there’s also no marketing of any kind to distract our young users. We’re thrilled to offer this, and the initial reaction from kids, teachers and parents has been overwhelmingly positive and encouraging.
And I can’t imagine any kiddo not being completely engaged and eager to explore.
