		<description>I think publishers would say that they cannot be responsible for other houses, and that their levels only relate to their own sequence of books. The problem is that parents don&#039;t buy by publisher or series, they buy by book, and see a 1, 2, or 3 on it and assume that numbers means the same thing on two different books.</description>

		<description>The &quot;vanity sizing&quot; analogy is a good one. I&#039;d be curious to know what publishers have to say about the discrepancies in reading levels/labeling. Although I would not be surprised, I would find it disappointing to learn that they&#039;re making decisions based on &quot;marketing advantages&quot; rather than reading appropriateness.</description>
