Send me the TRUCKS

I want my TRUCKS. Jon Scieszka’s new Trucktown series sounds so fun. (Scroll down to read the SLJ review) I called several of my book distributors Friday but nobody could get me the book Smash! Crash! this week. I tried BAM and BN but no one had it in stock.ARGH! Don’t they realize that Kaylee and Brandon (the 3 and 1 year old grandchildren of my colleague Virginia) need this book?! Come on distributors, get this new series out to me! What do I have to do? Drive to Atlanta? I live in Nashville, for goodness sakes! We are the 11th most literate city in America and I can’t get this book. Grrrrrrr.

SCIESZKA, Jon. Jon Scieszka‘s Trucktown: Smash! Crash! illus. by David Shannon, Loren Long, & David Gordon. unpaged. S & S. Jan. 2008. RTE $16.99. ISBN 978-1-4169-4133-0.

Addendum: Pardon my rant, but I’ve already told my art teacher about this and when she realized this was by the author of The Math Curse and The True Story of The 3 Little Pigs,  she has been constantly bothering me to see this book, touch this book, know this book, and share this book with her art friends. Help, please! Soon she’ll sic her art friends upon me. I need this book. In fact, I need a copy for her.

  1. Hooray! I was visiting #2 son in Fort Knox this weekend and found the Truck Town books. Lisa van Drasek’s blog review was printed out and prominently displayed above the display at Barnes & Noble Bookstore. I was so thrilled to be able to touch her article and tell my sons that I “knew” Lisa and had read her review earlier.
Both #2 and #3 son agreed these title are going to be hits. They were sad they hadn’t been available when they were younger.
