Neil Gaiman is an incredible man. He autographed for hours both days. He expressed sadness that so many people were unable to get their book signed. The lines for his autograph must have set new records for length.
He said to me, "Hi, I’m Neal…" Well, just call me ravingly silly librarian who can hardly explain enough how much I loved The Graveyard Book.
He worried that he’d begin his speech and freeze – completely blank. Then the librarians would throw things at him. I said his presence was so mesmerizing and magnetizing that he’d just say, "Hi, I’m Neil Gaiman" and the audience would all faint from delight.
Heard raves from everyone who listened to his speech. Thanks, Neil!
