@Jen J - as far as I know (and one would hope I do, since I review for them), a VOYA "star" is just a 5Q review. These are very different from the other journals, because it is entirely left up to the individual reviewer, with no input from the editorial staff. At least, when I've given a 5Q I've never heard back from my editor.

Yes, the fourth star is from VOYA. Before posting, I checked the Penguin website to verify starred review information...and changed "three" to "four" as a result.

I also show only 3 stars for The Final Four as well (the same ones you see Karyn). Over at The Stars So Far post on Shelf Talker it shows it with 4, but they have started counting VOYA stars at well which I do not currently track/have access to/understand. Perhaps that's where the differential comes in?

I'm only seeing three stars in Follett (Booklist, BCCB, and SLJ). Sarah, is there a 4th or is there a data entry error in our spreadsheet? (Everyone else: our spreadsheet is a great and terrible beauty, and sadly riddled with data holes when it comes to stars!)

Didn't finish either. I couldn't really see any potential in plot, character, or writing to take it above and beyond.

I didn't finish it, but I got it for my kid, who only reads basketball books. I suspect he will love it. My problem is more of a narrow focus for the book. I don't see it as breaking out of the sports genre.
