Great review about a thoughtful and sensitive film which shows the importance of negotiating the divide between modernity and tradition.

Neesha, it is a terrific film. I just started reading JAZZ IN LOVE and thought how funny how reading/viewing works. First I read HUSH that also had arranged marriages, which led me to watch ARRANGED and now I'm reading JAZZ and discover that is a plot point!

James, I'm so glad to hear it works well with classroom conversations. The two lead actresses are wonderful. Not only is this a great film, it's a great indie film as well, from the writing to the editing to the acting.

Love this movie, too! We use it at our very diverse high school in Chicago. Highly recommended for conversations about connections among cultures. The two lead women are amazing in it.
