This one might make it’s way to my #1 favorite read of 2011. So so so so good. I just adored Tom and the story was heartbreaking. Don’t even get me started on the awesomeness of the love stories. Seriously. Fantastical. I may have to re-read on audio now.

I can’t wait to read this one – I LOVE Marchetta, and this one is on the list – just haven’t gotten to it yet. But your first review enticed me, and this one seals the deal.

I think I would love Sydney and Melbourne and all those fab-sounding places.

I agree Piper’s Sons is one of the best YA novels of 2011. There are so many wonderful layers to this story and Marchetta is double dip worthy. Do you get to hear the band play on the audio?

You’re right about the presence of the city, the neighborhood, in this one, though I hadn’t thought of that specifically before. I really liked this book, too…so I might have to revisit it with the audio version.

Fabulous post, Liz. I really loved Saving Francesca, and ought to pick up more Marchetta. Her writing is really spectacularly good.
