I'm just as shallow as you it seems because this book was less appealing to me because of the cover as well. But, so many people are talking it up positively there it's going to be hard to avoid reading it.

Ann, it is intriguing. Very unique, very different, and -- for those of you who have read the Carter books -- Cullen reminds me of Carter.

Walter, I'm pleased to see this get a Morris nod and wonder if we'll hear this title more than once Monday morning.

faith, I cannot wait to talk to people in real time about this, because there are some things I want to discuss that are way too spoilery for this post.

Melissa, thanks!

Sondy, ARG on the health issues. I hope things get better, soon.

Thanks for the shout-out, Liz! :)

Though my stance on not making the list of best books read in 2011 until 2011 is done means it will probably be quite late this year, when no one's interested any longer. But oh well! (My excuse is that I may have had another stroke. My health does start to become more important than timely blog posts at that point!)

And you made me tempted to try to fit this one in real quick before the year ends, but it's probably a lost cause, because I am not nearly going to finish the ones I already want to finish....

One of my favorites of the year too. It's definitely a book you could read more than once and get more out of it each time.
